Title: Avro 698 illustration

Client: Aeroplane Monthly

This illustration for the March 2007 issue of the magazine shows an early Avro concept for the 698 Vulcan as if it had been constructed and gone into RAF service. I decided to portray it in 44 squadron markings from the early 1980s when it would have been approaching the end of its service life. It also seemed appropriate to portray it over Lincoln cathedral, often used as a backdrop in images of RAF bomber aircraft
